    1.0    FUNCTION OF THE FROUNT OFFICE ACCOUN SYESTEM:
Maintain record of all guest transaction
 Provide an effective internal control by monitoring
Provide management information on departmental revenue

2.0 TYPES OF ACCOUNT MAINTAINED BY THE FROUNT OFFICE        CASHIER
“Guest account is a record of all financial transaction between the hotel and the guest .it also called a folio or bill”.
There are three main types of account maintained by  the front office cashier
Resident guest account
City account
Management account

          2.1 Resident guest account
Show the financial transaction with the guest who have registered and currently at the hotel.
Some of the guest may have their accommodation charges settled by company while they settle other expenses by themselves. In this situation, the resident guest has two folios;
 Master folios or account for the room charges Which will be sent to the company for settlement.
Incidental folio or account witch the guest will settle.
2.2 City account
Records of financial transaction between the hotel and non resident account
Local business
Guest who walkout settling the outstanding balance on their account.
Guest who sent prepayment to guarantee their bookings but have not arrived or checked in.
2.3 Management account
“Are expense account or allowances given by some hotels to the manager”.
Used to entertain guest or potential clients
Some resident accounts are transferred to city account
Account will then sent to account department witch handles their settlement
